Newest Travel Phase

Look for our latest rocks and shells in or most recent travel areas from Atlanta to Tampa to Key West to Cuba. Please remember to leave your Trail of Smiles treasure along the path of your own travels in order to expand the ripple effect of this project.  2018

It is great to be hearing from people who have found a rock or shell in their own travels.  We are pleased with the results so far.  If you find your own rock or shell, please take a moment to share your story on the Trail of Smiles Facebook page or Tweet @trailofsmiles.  One rock was found in Alaska and traveled to Hawaii and will soon be heading home with its new owner to the UK.  Another roack was found in Willow, Alaska and was shared on a traveler's blog.  Below is picture of a family who found their rock in Yellowstone.

About the Project

This is a project to spread smiles globally.  We collect rocks and shells and apply some decorative painting to them.  We then leave the rocks and shells randomly across the world as we travel.  Most shells are collected locally on the New Jersey shoreline but some are from other areas in the US as well as from various islands.  Rocks have been collected while traveling throughout the world, but mostly in North America.

When a ToS rock or shell is found, it is hoped that it will bring the finder both a smile as well as luck.  Finders can hold onto their rock/shell for up to a month but should plan to leave it somewhere in their own travels in order to spread the smiles and luck even further.  Each finder should leave a message on the blog and Twitter with the number of their rock/shell and where it was found.  Hopefully, this project will find its way to the far corners of the world and, even MORE importantly, bring smiles and luck to unsuspecting finders.

Happy Smiles!

Kathie
